Several days had passed since our parents left for their hot springs trip.
Today, Yuuka and I had our high school entrance ceremony, so we had been getting ready since early in the morning.
Our high school is a private one, and the girls’ uniforms are known for being super cute.
One of the things that makes them popular is how the uniforms change—blazers for spring and summer, then sailor uniforms for autumn and winter.
The boys only have blazers, but I personally think the design looks pretty cool.
While I was waiting for Yuuka at the entrance, the intercom rang. When I stepped outside, Kouhei and Kaori were waiting there.
“Hey, starting today we’re high school students too.” (Kouhei)
Kouhei said with a grin.
“I’m looking forward to it, but since Yuuka-chan and I are the first and second-ranked students, we have to give a speech on stage, and that’s a little nerve-wracking.” (Kaori)
Kaori looked excited, but there was a trace of nervousness on her face.
“But isn’t it amazing? I mean, the tuition and everything else get waived.” (Yuuto)
Being ranked first and second meant tuition was free, and you even got the uniforms and other things for free, so everyone aimed for that benefit.
As I was chatting away with Kaori and the others, the front door opened, and Yuuka came out.
Yuuka was short but had a big chest, so she wore a somewhat large blazer, and the sleeves covered her hands, which looked really cute.
“Good morning, Yuuka-chan! That uniform looks amazing on you, you’re way too cute.” (Kaori)
Kaori said this as she approached Yuuka and gently patted her head.
“Good morning, Kaori-chan. But I’m the one who’s jealous of you. You look so sharp and cool.” (Yuuka)
Yuuka looked at Kaori with envy in her eyes.
“I’m actually jealous of you, Yuuka-chan. With my height, cute clothes don’t suit me as well, and no matter how much I dress up, I don’t really feel like I give off a girly vibe. I wish I could wear long sleeves that cover my hands like you.” (Kaori)
Kaori also looked at Yuuka with envy in her eyes.
“Well, Kaori has her own charm, and Yuuka-chan has hers too. I think it’s better to just embrace and develop those individual strengths.” (Kouhei)
I nodded along with Kouhei’s words.
“That’s true. People who get me will understand my charm.” (Kaori)
As Kaori said that he hugged Kouhei and started flirting with him.
Yuuka watched them and looked a little jealous.
When I patted Yuuka on the head, she looked really happy.
“You lovey-dovey couple over there, if you don’t hurry up, you’ll be late for the entrance ceremony.” (Mom)
My mom came out of the entrance, showing us the time on the clock.
And so we quickly rushed off for our first day of high school.
