After leaving the hot spring, I was treating Kouhei to a milk coffee when Yuuka and Kaori came out from the women’s bath.
“Sorry to keep you two waiting, the bath was really nice~” (Kaori)
Kaori came out and held Kouhei’s hand in a couple’s grip.
“Same here, it really was a nice bath, and on top of that, since Yuuto lost a bet, I got to drink milk coffee, so I’m really satisfied.” (Kouhei)
Because Kouhei said something unnecessary, Kaori and Yuuka’s eyes sparkled.
“I want milk, buy me some, Yuuto~” (Yuuka)
“Yuuto, I request strawberry milk, buy me some~” (Kaori)
The big kid and the little kid both started whining at the same time.
“You’re already high school students, so buy it yourselves.” (Yuuto)
I brushed them off like that.
“Kouhei~ Yuuto’s bullying me~” (Kaori)
They whined while trying to garner sympathy.
“He’s our dad, but he’s a stingy parent who won’t buy it for us~” (Kaori)
They kept complaining nonstop.
“Who said I’m your dad? Fine then, if you win at a game, I’ll buy it for you.” (Yuuto)
“We’re in! What game are we playing?” (Kaori)
I pointed to a certain place.
It was the ping-pong table.
“We’ll play a five-point match. If you win, I’ll buy the milk. If you lose, you pay yourself.” (Yuuto)
After explaining the format, Kaori accepted.
“Okay, but give me a handicap, I’ve never played ping-pong before.” (Kaori)
“You really are terrible at sports, aren’t you, despite how you look.” (Kouhei)
That was true—Kaori was terrible at sports. Just how bad was she?
“Then I’ll go first.” (Kaori)
She said that and tossed the ping-pong ball.
Then she swung the paddle.
The ball bounced off the ground with a clang without touching the paddle.
Kaori was good at endurance running and swimming, but bad at ball games.
She was probably embarrassed because she was trembling, but
“One more time, please, let me try again.” (Kaori)
She was almost crying.
Then Yuuka took the paddle Kaori had been waiting for.
“Kaori’s out of the game, so I’m going to take down Yuuto.” (Yuuka)
Yuuka, full of determination was standing on the opposite side.
“I won’t go easy on you, so be ready.” (Yuuto)
With that, the battle between Yuuka and me began.
Yuuka was the opposite of Kaori—she was bad at endurance running and swimming but skilled at ball games thanks to her dexterous hands.
Yuuka and I were evenly matched, so this was a battle neither of us could afford to lose.
The result of the match was:
“W-What, I lost?” (Yuuto)
“I beat Yuuto, so hurry up and buy me that strawberry milk.” (Yuuka)
Since I lost the match, I had no choice but to go buy it.
Then I gave the reward, and Yuuka took a sip.
After that, she held out the half-drunk strawberry milk to me.
Since the strawberry milk wasn’t in a bottle, it had been bought in a paper carton.
“You’re thirsty too, right, Yuuto? Here, have the rest.” (Yuuka)
I decided to accept Yuuka’s kindness.
As I drank the strawberry milk from the paper carton Yuuka gave me…
“Indirect kissing, huh, Yuuto~” (Kaori)
Kaori teased me.
“I’m not bothered by that at all. We do it all the time.” (Yuuto)
“As expected of a lovey-dovey couple. You’re so used to it,” (Kaori)
From my perspective, I thought they were the bigger lovey-dovey couples.
Then Lia-sensei came over to the ping-pong area.
“Hey, you two lovey-dovey couples over there—it’s almost dinner time, so move along.” (Lia)
